These photos are about my home region. The Tumen River flows in northeast China. It is a border river that divides North Korea in the south from China in the north. I hope misunderstandings are not caused by my focusing on a border river, because to me the pictures are not about politics but of pure visual interest and a record of a time and place. On the other hand, I don’t want my work to be simply documentary, because my subjective feelings also lie deep within it.
